The coach of the Italian national team Antonio Conte released the list of the players that have been called-up for the match against Bulgaria and England. Roma’s Daniele De Rossi is out while Alessandro Florenzi is in.
AS Roma’s terrible moment is well known by everyone who is passionate about soccer. It was obvious that Antonio Conte could not have called many giallorossi for the upcoming matches against Bulgaria and England. The expectations were confirmed when the Italian coach decided to leave De Rossi in Rome and to call Alessandro Florenzi that in the last period is probably the only Roma player that is doing well on the playing field.
However, Conte’s call-ups have been very interesting also because he decided to involve some interesting new players. Eder (Sampdoria), Valdifiori (Empoli) and Vasquez (Palermo) are the new entrances in the prestigious group of the Azzurri.
Let’s check together the list of the players that were summoned for the upcoming matches against Bulgaria and England:
Goalkeepers: Buffon (Juventus), Perin (Genoa), Sirigu (Paris Saint Germain);
Defenders: Barzagli (Juventus), Bonucci (Juventus), Chiellini (Juventus), Moretti (Torino), Ranocchia (Inter);
Midfielders: Antonelli (Milan), Bertolacci (Genoa), Candreva (Lazio), Cerci (Milan), Darmian (Torino), Florenzi (Roma), Marchisio (Juventus), Parolo (Lazio), Pasqual (Fiorentina), Soriano (Sampdoria), Valdifiori (Empoli), Verratti (Paris Saint Germain);
Forwarders: Eder (Sampdoria), Gabbiadini (Napoli), Immobile (Borussia Dortmund), Pellé (Southampton), Vazquez (Palermo), Zaza (Sassuolo).
Undoubtedly this team doesn’t trigger the excitement of the millions of Italian supporters. There are not great stars but humble workers that could also perform well thanks to the constant pressure that Antonio Conte puts on them. I have to say that this national team looks very weak and incomparable with the super-powers of the world. If we stop for a minute and we think about Germany, Spain, Holland, France and so on we definitely understand that Conte must make a miracle to do well at the upcoming European Cup.
