Roma boss Rudi Garcia has urged his team to remain calm as they try to fight through their current struggles and points out that the Lupi are not fighting to survive in the Serie A.
The Giallorossi still sit in second place in the league standings but are now at risk of losing their position to rivals Lazio if they fail to earn a win in their next game against Cesena on Sunday, though the tactician wants his men to understand that there is still enough time in the season to solidify their ranking.
Garcia spoke during a press conference on Wednesday about Roma’s need to find their balance in the Serie A and issued a reminder that the capital city club still have the chance to do well in Italy’s top tier as well as in the Europa League.
We should never feel absolute euphoria or feel completely defeated, said the Frenchman.
At this time we are calm. After the rain comes the sun, this is why we need the players to keep their cool, because they need to play with desire with the help of the right mentality.
It seems like we’re struggling for salvation, and some act like we’re out of the running for everything, but this is not true.
The judgements can be made at the end of the season.
Roma will be hosting Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday in their Europa League round of 16 second leg and will be looking for a victory following their 1-1 draw in the first meeting in Florence.
