Roma-Verde: “I’m very excited about the match!”

Today Roma’s youngster Verde was under the spotlight against Cagliari because many people were preventively criticizing Rudi Garcia’s choice to line him up on behalf of Leandro Paredes. Verde’s previously performances weren’t really great but the French coach deeply believes that this young guy can become a very valuable player for Roma‘s future.

Today, Verde demonstrated his skills. he was a constant danger for Cagliari’s defense line thanks to his speed and technique. He played a really impressive first half and he made the difference on the playing field. Verde constantly attacked Cagliari’s fullback on both side of the field as well as Gervinho usually does.

Right at the end of the match Roma TV interviewed him to know something more about his feelings after such a great performance:

“I’m young and with an incredible desire to prove my quality. I’ll do my best every time the coach will give me the possibility to play.”

“I reckon that my best quality is the dribbling because unfortunately I’m a small guy. I know that Garcia wants me to show my skills and I’m trying to show him my personality.”

“This is probably one of the best evening of my life but I have to remain focused on my objectives. I was very excited when we faced Palermo and Garcia told me that I must keep calm otherwise I cannot perform well. I demonstrated my personality because today I was serene.”

“After my assist for Ljajic I looked at the sky because I have so much faith also in my qualities. I want to improve my skills and I always pray to let this happen.”

“My teammates of the youth team will go ahead well even if I’ll not return with them. They will remain at the top. I will follow Garcia’s suggestions and I will always try to be ready.”

“Paredes scored a great goal with an incredible coordination. His goal is better than my assist.”
