Roma-Paredes: “I’m happy to show my skills!”

Leandro Paredes is a well known player in Argentina even if he is still really young. Roma’s fans are slowly discovering his skills.

Former Boca Juniors’ midfielder Leandro Paredes is going ahead with his maturation process and everyone can now understand the reason why Walter Sabatini, Roma’s sorting director, decided to spend a serious amount of money to pursue him. It is already long time that Garcia stated that Paredes is ready to play but most of the time the French coach decided to sit him on the bench due to the many important players that Roma has on its midfield line. However, in the last few weeks the situation has changed. Roma’s roster is very reduced due to the multiple injuries that affected Garcia’s guys and also because Gervinho and Doumbia are still in Africa to play the final match of the African Cup.

Today everyone was expecting Paredes lined up in the starting 11 but Rudi Garcia decided to replace him with Verde and put him on the field just in the second half. Leandro Paredes played an honest match but he also amazed the crowd with his incredible goal from the right side of the box.

Right at the end of the match the Argentine talent has been interviewed by Roma TV and stated:

“I’m happy for my goal but moreover for the win that comes after four drawn in a row. This win let us get out from a complicated situation. Roma’s youngsters are training hard every day to be ready when the coach needs us. I train very hard to be able to score as well.”

“Now I’m happy to show my skills and because I have the possibility to play. Today we won and this is what all of us want.”

“When Garcia decides to put me in he gives me tranquillity, peace and trust. This is really important for all the players.”

“I grew up with Riquelme and he is my idol, however, also Totti is a great player and I can say that I have learned a lot from both of them.”
