Roma-Doumbia: “I will turn the boos into applause!”

Roma’s Seydou Doumbia met the reports at Trigoria. The Ivorian striker assured everyone that he will be able to demonstrate his quality soon.

Doumbia’s debut wasn’t great, everyone knows that but there are many aspects that must be taken into consideration before labeling him as a mediocre player. The Ivorian striker has the stats in his favor because he was able to score dozens of goals in various leagues and moreover in the most difficult tournament for clubs, the Champions League.

Today, the reporters asked him how his first few days in Rome were and Doumbia expressed his happiness to be on this team and in this amazing city:

“The staff and my teammates cheered me on very well. Everything has been positive so far.”

“I heard about the negotiation between Roma and CSKA when I was involved in the African Cup. It’s two years that I’ve been speaking with Gervinho about Roma and he was certainly a decisive factor for my choice to come here.”

“Now that I signed with AS Roma I hope to be a great value for the team being able to demonstrate my skills and my talent. I hope that in the future I’ll be able to satisfy my team and the AS Roma supporters.”

“I’m a pure striker. I like to play within the box and in that position I scored many times so far. I need trust to show my skills and I’m sure that I’ll have time to get more confident.”

“I believe that the current Roma is not different from the one that I met when I was a CSKA player. I also want to highlight that we are still in the second spot of the rankings even if our last match was not great.”

“I didn’t play many matches in the last period and especially from November until now. However, I’ll work hard to close the season in the right way. I will turn the boos into applause!”. I trained with Roma only two times before the match but I don’t think that my bad performance was due to my inactivity also because I played the final match of the African Cup. As I previously stated I’ll work hard to repay the expectations of the supporters.”
