Stramaccioni: “Roma must win but Udinese wants to perform well!”

Former AS Roma youth team coach and actual Udinese’s trainer Andrea Stramaccioni released an interview to SportItalia in reference to the upcoming match between Udinese and Roma:

“It will be an important and difficult match for us because we are aware of Roma’s qualities. Roma must win but Udinese wants to perform well. We get to this match with 8 unavailable players but I don’t want to complain about it. As I stated before the match against Sampdoria I know that those who will play will perform well. My mind is totally involved in what I’m doing for Udinese and we are performing well so far. However, I cannot deny my past because I spent 6 fantastic years at Roma, I’m from Rome and my family is there. Moreover, I also have many friends at Roma such as Bruno Conti, Vito Scala and on the playing field there will be players that I also trained. Let’s say that I will support Roma in the challenge for the title but in the next match Udinese will do everything to put them in trouble.”

“I believe that Roma has an immense quality on the midfield line. They always manage the ball and direct the game as they want. I reckon that their midfielders are the best in the Serie A. Udinese must be aggressive to limit their quality. We play at home in front of our supporters so we have to do everything is possible to perform well and start the new year in the right way. I’m confident that we can do it.”

“I know Francesco Totti since long time and I always stated that he is a great man before to be a great player. He will always be in the history of the Italian football. Here at Udinese we have Di Natale, another amazing guy who has many things in common with Francesco. Roma had Bruno Conti and now Francesco Totti while Udinese will keep Di Natale until he will want to play.”
