Yanga-Mbiwa: “I’m here thanks to Garcia”

Yanga-Mbiwa, the new AS Roma defender, has been presented to the journalists and media present at Trogoria. The French defender expressed his happiness to join Garcia’s guys:

I’m glad to be here to give something more to the team. The coach knows me very well and I hope to give a lot to Roma. I already knew him when he was coaching in France. He was one of the best trainers in the Ligue 1. He convinced me to come here because he wants to win the Scudetto and I’m hungry of victories as well.

I am already available to play. We have a super-team and we will do everything to achieve our goals. I am comfortable in playing as a right fullback but my real position is central defender. Physically I feel pretty good, however, I have a few days to improve. I hope to be in perfect shape for the next game, I will work hard to be able to play the next match.

Roma are a great team that play to win. We have a good team but obviously I have to work so much and give my best to play. If I will play often I will have the chance to return in the National team. I will try to fight both when training and during the matches to conquer the starting lineup.”

In England I couldn’t perform well, perhaps because they see things in a different way. Over there it’s all based on the physical factor. Here we play football and I think that the Serie A is similar to the Ligue 1.

Racism? I think Rome are a great team that know how to handle these situations. As for me, I only think about the field.”
