Michel Platini: I’ll tell you about the financial fair play!

UEFA’s president Michel Platini released an interview to explain the benefits that the financial fair play brought to football:

“Since the introduction of the financial fair play, the loss that professional clubs collected in Europe have declined from 1.7 billion to 800 million euro in two seasons. This shows that we are on the right path and that we move from a vicious to a virtuous cycle with regard to the management models of the European clubs. The original goal was just that, to save the heritage that clubs represent. We must continue on this path, with strength and conviction. The financial fair play must be dynamic. It must constantly evolve and it is for this reason that on October 13 I organized a major roundtable discussion at the headquarters of UEFA with the representatives of the clubs. We will try to find all the imperfections and identify room for improvement. Dialogue and trust are key to success.”
