Manchester City-Roma: Garcia’s press conference!

Rudi Garcia and Ashley Cole held the pre-match press conference in which they stated to be really confident of being able to play a great match against a super-team:

RUDI GARCIA:

“We started well collecting 3 points against CSKA. This gave us a chance to play without too much pressure. We have everything to gain tomorrow. That’s also because after the draws everybody said that we had no chance to pass the group. Manchester City have everything to lose.”

Ambitions…

“Let’s not forget that we were in the fourth pot, which means that we’re the outsiders. Especially against the British and German champions. We are motivated to show that we are a good team. This will be just a match to play. We have to be protagonist rather than just spectators. It will be tough, but we’ll do everything we can to make things difficult for Manchester City as well.”

Manchester City…

“Manchester City are a team with a great ball possession. They can speed the game up when they find space thanks to the quality players they have. Tomorrow we’ll see what kind of attitude they have, but we’ll have to be ready to respond to their moves. We’ll have to be well organized in defense to intercept the ball, and in attack to rapidly counterattacks. We need to wait the right moment tomorrow, because I’m sure we’ll have our chance during the game.”

Group E…

“It’s only the second match of the group. We have three points, and if we collect other three points it will be an important step for us, although it won’t be the decisive step to pass the group. I don’t even want to consider a negative result.”

Players…

“The Champions League matches are very easy to prepare because it’s not necessary to motivate the players. Tomorrow we must bring our energy on the playing pitch also because after the match against Juventus we’ll have a week to rest. De Sanctis? We have to see if he’ll be at 100% tomorrow.”

ASHLEY COLE:

Memories…

“It will be nice to see Hart and Lampard. I couldn’t expect to live this moment in my life and it would be great if we’ll be all starters. Lampard? We all know what he adds to a team. Obviously he couldn’t have enjoyed scoring that much against Chelsea, but that’s his job and he’ll do anything he can for his side.”

Differences…

“The difference between English and Italian football? I like them both. I love Italy, but obviously the way you take the field is different. We play fast with Roma and our coach pushes us to always attack. City’s players are very good in every sector of the pitch. We need to focus on our strength and clearly we’re going to have to fight even harder in this match.”

Manchester City…

“Manchester City are a great team, everyone knows that. They have players known all over the world.”

Your past…

“Did Chelsea make a mistake by letting me go? No, I spent eight great years there. So far things have gone well here with Roma, but I could play even better and in more games. They’re going to be under a lot of pressure, of course more than us.”
