I did not want to leave…they wanted to sell me!

When love stories end the two parties involved always believe to be in the right side. Benatia’s saga is just there to confirm this trend.

The strong Moroccan defender was interviewed by Kicker and he unveiled what he claims to be the true story of his transfer from Roma to Bayern Munich. Mehdi Benatia stated:

“I spoke with Walter Sabatini about my future. They wanted me to stay in Rome but they needed to sell me to monetize. This situation really disappointed  me because I wanted to stay.”

“Many teams were interested in me such as Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Also Bayern Munich was interested and I’m really happy to be here. I like Munich also if here is a bit too cold for me!”
