Erik Lamela: “I’m rooting for Roma”

Former AS Roma’s winger Erik Lamela was interviewed by Corriere dell Sport and the Argentine talent expressed his love for the Giallorossi:

“Last year, when I had time I watched a few games on TV. In Italy I have many friends, people to whom I am bound and I wish the best for them. I believe that the Italian league is still nice and very hard. I know that because for two years I played in it.”

“I’m rooting for Roma. The last season they played a great season, but Juventus was really hard to beat because they had an impressive continuity of performance. This year could be the right moment for them. Roma did a great job on the transfer market and they have many players of great value. I am pretty sure that they can challenge for the title and they are also in the Champions League. They deserve to play that competition and especially their supporters deserve it.”

“Benatia’s departure is not a problem because, as I said, they did well on the transfer market. Moreover, they have Francesco Totti, an incredible player with a great class. He is definitely one of the greatest players in the world. I still speak with many friends that were playing with me at Roma. They were really important people for my growth. If I am a good player is thanks to Roma. When I arrived in Italy I was really young but they have taught me many things allowing me to mature as a player and as a man.”
