Castan: “You have not seen anything that I can give…”

Leandro Castan was interviewed by Roma Tv and he expressed his opinion about the Serie A, the Champions League and his expectations for this season:

“I’m feeling good and I’m working well. I want to come back as quickly as possible.”

“In America I had a muscular problem that was not really serious, then another problem against Fenerbahçe. Now I feel good, I worked hard and next week I’ll be 100%. I believe to be available for Empoli then we need to see what the coach wants to do, but I always want to play and stay with the team.”

“The fans are amazing, I was in the stands against Fiorentina and there are no words to describe their passion.”

“I’m sorry for Benatia and Marquinhos because they have done well here in Rome. Now we have to start a new season with new teammates and I expect to do as well as I did with them. When there are quality players, everything is easier. My teammates must know that they can trust me. They know that I can do well.”

“Last season was normal, I did what I usually do. You have not seen anything that I can give to the team. I can do better and expect to play in the Champions League because that’s where I can prove my value. I have a great desire to play this season.”

“I prefer this pressure of having to play for the Scudetto rather than last year’s pressure. In this way, with the right head, we can always do better. The fans were wonderful and together with Strootman we had a great party in the stands. It was great to be there with the fans. We have to improve every year, we must win because that is the goal of the team. What we saw against Fiorentina is positive, we have the right mind and I think that if we continue on this path we will get closer to the target.”

“We have to do well in the Champions League, I believe and I trust my teammates. If we are there in the Champions League it means that we are a strong team. As the president Pallotta said our opponents have to be worried about challenging us. It was a dream as a child and now I’m really close to play in the Champions League. The goal is to do well with Roma. We work with humility, I am sure we will do well.”

“Brazil? I hope to have an opportunity with the new coach. I played 40 games last year and the former coach has made other choices opting for players who have played 10 games in total. I look to the future, my mind is here in Rome and I’m concentrated to do well. Maybe  in the future it would not be bad to have an opportunity to play for Brazil.”
