Garcia: “We need to be more effective”

Yesterday’s match was definitely a positive test for Garcia’s guys, however, the perfectionist French coach wants something more from his team. At the end of the match against Weiner SK that Roma won 5-1 Rudi Garcia was interviewed by Roma Channel and he stated:

“We need to be more effective. When we play with better teams it will be more difficult, however, that’s okay, our first target was to avoid injuries, I’m happy about it.”

Rudi Garcia’s point of view is very acceptable because Roma seemed to be really strong on the two sides of the forward line but probably they need a great striker as well…someone able to “inflate” the net effectively and consistently!Undoubtedly, we are not saying that Mattia Destro is not that kind of player, however, probably Garcia is saying that.

During last season Mattia Destro scored 13 goals by playing only half season and his performance was definitely great. Although Destro is a very good striker, furthermore still very young, Garcia needs someone with more experience and probably with more creativity. Yes, Garcia needs an unpredictable player able to properly interact with Gervinho and Iturbe if and when Francesco Totti is unable to play. Garcia’s tactic is devastating when the striker is able to retract for some meter and serve the two arrows on the wing. Unfortunately, this is something that Mattia Destro is unable to do, just because he is a different kind of player with different skills.

Garcia needs creativity on the pitch and Sabatini is very creative. Sabatini’s attempt to pursue Jovetic must be evaluated in this way…both of them love the unpredictability!
