Benatia is a precious jewel for Roma

A few days ago I wrote about Benatia’s disappointment in reference to his contractual situation. I stated that the relationship between the player and Roma was very icy and other journalists also advanced the possibility that the player would not have accepted to leave with the team in the incoming trip to the USA.

Everything I was saying as been confirmed today. Benatia already accepted Manchester City’s proposal and Roma, on the other hand, are trying to maximize their profits from this sell. Rumors coming from Milan said that Manchester City’s bid is €35 million but Roma would prefer to sell the player for €30 million plus Nastasic, Manchester City’s defender. The total amount of this negotiation would be a whopping €45 million for Roma but, at this stage, Manchester City did not accept this counteroffer.

Roma’s strategy is very understandable, as previously said they want to get as much money as possible from this negotiation. However, Sabatini and Baldissoni also believe that if the player believe to deserve a triple increment of salary the price of the player should be tripled as well. Last year Roma bought Benatia for €15 million plus bonus from Udinese and by tripling his price we perfectly arrive at the actual Benatia’s evaluation, €45 million. Take it or leave it, this is one of the main concept in Business…Benatia is a precious jewel for Roma.
