Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a player who is receiving a lot of attention on the market. In the last few years the strong winger of Gabon demonstrated all his qualities first in France, by playing for AS Saint-Étienne, and after in Germany with Borussia Dortmund. Really remarkable is his score with both teams. With AS Saint-Étienne he collected 96 appearances, scored 41 goals and 27 assist. In the last season he confirmed his great potentiality and with Borussia Dortmund he collected 48 appearances, scored 16 goals and 5 assist. He also played a few matches in Champions League (in total 9 appearances) and scored 1 goal.
Newcastle seems to be very interested in the player however Walter Sabatini, under Rudi Garcia’s suggestion, is keen to take him back to Italy. Garcia likes him because Aubameyang represents that “jolly” in the forward line that the French coach really needs. In addition, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang perfectly fits in AS Roma’s policy of acquiring young but strong players that are also ready to compete in important competitions such as the UEFA Champions League and the Italian Serie A.
Recently, Sabatini contacted the player’s representative Oscar Damiani who stated:
“Sabatini likes him. It is not an impossible negotiation but the player has a long contract with Borussia Dortmund and it will be really difficult to bring him away from Dortmund…However, he would like to return to Italy.”
