French expedition for Sabatini. Why?

Data provided by Transfermarkt

In the occasion of the match between France and Jamaica, Walter Sabatini flew to Lille to double check a few transfer market possibilities. AS Roma is looking to the French market due to Rudi Garcia’s experience and knowledge of it. However, Sabatini would be really interested in two French players that actually are not playing in the League One anymore but in the English Premier League, Debuchy and Sagna.

Debuchy has been AS Roma’s target already for a while. Most of you probably remember that Sabatini was interested in this player two years ago and last year as well. Although Debuchy went to play for Newcastle he has been constantly followed by the AS Roma sporting director that always appreciated his qualities, and personality on the pitch. In addition he has great international experience that make him preferable to Santon.

Bacary Sagna‘s suggestion come up because at the moment the player is without contract. Although Sagna’s role is right-back he is able to play as left-back too. 31 years old, great experience with Arsenal and his national team, personality and charisma…this is the profile of one of the best right / left back players that are on the transfer market now.
There are many pros and cons in buying this player…Firstly he could be a source of inspiration for the young Dodo that could have the necessary time to recuperate from his injury and improve his skills. Another positive thing could be to imagine a great defense line that next year could be composed of Sagna-Benatia-Castan-Maicon…not many teams in the world have a similar abundance in the defense line. Talking about the cons we have to mention Sagna’s high salary and the interest of Manchester City for this player.

Sabatini has been there and we all know that when he directly goes somewhere it is just to finalize some agreement.
